The Elder Scrolls Online: Everything you need to know about Gates of Oblivion
2021-01-24 00:00
If you have ever played The Elder Scrolls IV, the name Oblivion should immediately ring a bell. Oblivion, also known as the Void of Oblivion, the Planes of Oblivion or the Waters of Oblivion, is a plane of existence that serves as a home to the Deadra. During the events of The Elder Scrolls, the player had to fight invasion attempts from Oblivion. The barrier separating Oblivion from the real world had been weakened and could only be mended thanks to the sacrifice of Emperor Martin Septim, the the illegitimate son of Emperor Uriel Septim VII.
Gates of Oblivion will be centered on the Deadric Prince of Destruction, Mehrunes Dagon. It will be the second time a Deadric Prince tries to invade Tamriel in ESO, after a failed attempt by Molag Bal (the main antagonist of ESO) and his realm of Cold Harbor during the early stages of the game. Mehrunes Dagon will come with his own realm called the Deadlands. It is a nightmarish plane of lava, molten rock and sinister dark towers. It was from there that Dagon launched his invasion of Tamriel.
The trailer for the expansion gave us some hints about what we could expect from Dagon’s involvement in the game. He is a deity who rules over destruction, revolution, energy, change and ambition. The Gates of Oblivion’s trailer features an elf woman who appears to be Eveli Sharp-Arrow, previously seen in Wrothgar. She has a nightmare in which she sees the Deadlands and faces Merhunes Dagon himself in his giant form. At the end of the trailer, Eveli’s pupils change, letting many think that Dagon has possessed her or has gained a kind of influence over her. In a few days, the world reveal event will give us a confirmation about our theories. You can buy ESO Gold for the best price on U7BUY.
